2008 Athletic Awards
Athletics are an integral part of the total educational curriculum at St. Luke’s. Athletics, properly taught and coached, can be a powerful tool in providing a positive, well-rounded educational experience for our students. Every effort is made to reach as many students as possible through these activities.

The interscholastic athletic program is a direct outgrowth of the physical education program and provides an opportunity for students to further develop their athletic interests. St. Luke's has a variety of sports teams for students grades 5 through 12. In addition to athletic opportunities, St. Luke's offers an after-school program that is also based on the objectives and principles of the Physical Education curriculum.

General Objectives:
    • To provide meaningful co-curricular experiences to a maximum number of students
    • To promote the desirable outcomes of athletic participation, through the development of good habits, attitude, and total fitness
    • To provide opportunities for the development of leadership and fellowship
    • To promote school spirit and community relations
    • To emphasize the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and fair play
    • To promote the physical, mental, moral, social, and emotional well-being of the individual athlete
