St. Luke’s 2024 Scholars Symposium: Students Present on Yearlong Research
This spring, 23 members of the Class of 2024 showcased their mastery of research and presentation skills during the annual Scholars Symposium.
The Scholars Program and Symposium, led by Director of Studies Jim Yavenditti, encourages students to forge their paths by embarking on a yearlong, extensive independent research project on a topic that inspires them. Scholars’ fields of study include global, literary, and STEM subjects. They begin with a deep dive into research, consult with faculty mentors throughout the process, and conclude with a formal presentation of findings at the symposium.
The Scholars Program fuels academic passion and ambitions by placing students at the helm of learning and is referred to by Yavenditti as “the highest form of independent scholarship on the St. Luke’s Hilltop.”
Each student gave a twenty-minute presentation that included an overview of their topic, their findings, and a Q&A with audience members. See the complete list of presentations here.
