Model UN Prepares For Cornell and NYC Events

V. Parker
From Model UN Advisor Abby Bielski:

Last Tuesday evening, St. Luke’s Model United Nations team organized an on-site mock conference in preparation of two upcoming events. Sophomores Carolina Warneryd and Mary Grace Thomas acted as chairwomen and moderated the topic of internet access and fake news.

Each participant expertly represented his or her country’s interest while navigating the complicated web of global alliances and conflict. Our team is looking forward to bringing 13 participants to Cornell University in April and 17 participants to New York City in May.

During on our mock conference, the following students each represented a country:

Chairwomen: Mary Grace Thomas ‘19 and Carolina Warneryd ‘19
Belarus: Lucas Manocherian ‘20
Belgium: Connor Rosow ‘20
Uganda: Marco Volpitta ‘20
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea: Chris Walsh ‘20
Denmark: Alexandria Schwartz ‘18
(Navia, one the visiting exchange students from our partner school in China, also participated.)
