Latin Students Step Back in Time

V. Parker
From Latin teacher Ryan Lundquist:

On Friday, April 28, 13 St. Luke’s Latin students and their two teachers went back in time to enjoy Connecticut Latin Day. This annual event held at Holiday Hill was a wonderful opportunity for young classicists from across the state to come together for a day of fun, creativity, learning, and competition—all focused on the language and culture of the ancient Romans.

Our students competed in a Latin quiz bowl called Certamen and earned third place honors overall. They recreated ancient art in a 3d printing tutorial and a massive communally painted mosaic. Students ran races, laughed at comedy shows, beat their friends in board games and learned through it all. It was a fun day  experiencing this year’s Latin Day motto, “imperium sine fine!” (Empire without end!)
