St. Luke’s Middle School GeoBee Competition

V. Parker
On January 30, St. Luke’s Middle School students gathered in the Forese Family Fireplace Commons for the annual National Geographic GeoBee State Competition. Ten students in 5th-8th grades pre-qualified to participate in the contest.

St. Luke’s participants answered various challenging geographic questions. After several rounds of elimination, it was down to three final contestants: Dylan West ‘24, Wyatt Patrick ‘26, and Hanna Zable ‘26. In the end, Wyatt won first place after correctly answering all the questions in the final round.

Wyatt then passed a written qualifying test and is now eligible to compete in the 32nd National Geographic GeoBee State Competition as a state semifinalist. The next level of the contest will be a statewide one. The winner of this competition will represent Connecticut in the National GeoBee Championship, which will take place in Washington, D.C., in mid-May.
