Debate Team Wins at Tri State Championship

Last weekend, St. Luke's Upper and Middle School debaters competed in the American Debate League’s Tri State Championship. Dash Gilrain-Lennon ‘25 and Samantha Gerber ‘25 won all of their rounds of Public Forum debate in the high school division. Dash was also recognized as 3rd best speaker overall. St. Luke's placed 1st in the advanced public forum event and 2nd place overall for the tournament.  

Middle school debaters Salman Memon ‘26 and Maeve Welch ‘26 had an impressive win in their first tournament, competing together in an advanced public forum event. The resolution being debated was Resolved: Japan should revise Article 9 of its Constitution to develop offensive military capabilities.
