From Director of Global Education Beth Yavenditti:
On Monday, St. Luke's welcomed four teachers and six students from our Chinese partner school, Dongchang. The group has been busy all week. They visited classes and spent some time teaching our Chinese students about their culture and traditions. The teachers met with Head of School Mark Davis, Head of Upper School Liz Perry, and Director of Studies Jim Yavenditti to learn more about how we approach teaching and scheduling. The Chinese students and teachers had a great day in New York City and enjoyed a visit to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). They also ventured north to Boston where they saw Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The group even got to experience a New England snow storm. On Friday, the group met with the 6th grade World Cultures class and talked about China and life in Shanghai.
We are so grateful to the St. Luke's families who welcomed them into their families for the week. We could not have done this without them. Our Chinese visitors return home to Shanghai on February 13.
