St. Luke’s Juniors Teach Leadership Skills at LiveGirl Workshop

V. Parker
From Director of Character Education Kate Parker-Burgard:

On Friday, February 10, Jesse Segalla ‘18, Lucia Wiggers ‘18 and Amelia Wyckoff ‘18 were invited to present a workshop on Building Self-Confidence for a group of middle school girls from Fairfield County. The event was part of the LiveGirl program, which brings together middle school girls from Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, New Canaan, Redding and other communities to empower girls through leadership development and mentoring.

Amelia, Lucia and Jesse worked with me to develop their workshop, which was presented to about 50 girls that evening. Lucia noted, "our message was to build confidence in the girls, which is the most important thing you need to be a leader and help move your community forward. It was a really great experience to share what I’ve learned."

St. Luke's School has had a continued partnership with LiveGirl since its development.
