9th Graders Take on Met Museum With Self-Made Podcasts
V. Parker
From Upper School World History Teacher Abby Bielski:
On May 31, the entire 9th grade enjoyed a day trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In preparation for the trip, each student researched one work of ancient art and created a podcast designed to give the viewer context and historical background.
St. Luke’s academic technologist, Matt Bavone, compiled these 76 podcasts into audio tracks that guided the students through centuries of ancient art. We invite you to use our students’ audio guides on your next visit to the Met. To access them, download the Spreaker Podcast Radio App and search MET Playlist 2017 1, 2, 3, or 4. You will be impressed by the thought, effort, and research our students poured into this project.
Before the museum, students enjoyed a FLIK picnic lunch in Central Park and then made time for a ‘Face Swap’ contest as they viewed seminal works of art from the ancient world.
