A Vibrant Visual Arts Week on the Hilltop

V Parker
Visiting artists, exhibitions, and even an artistic bake-off were all part of St. Luke’s Visual Arts Week earlier this month.

On Wednesday, artist Gerald Moore had Middle School students create a sculpture with his collection of acrylic “crystals” and miniature action figures. He also held an assembly with the entire 7th grade.

Award-winning photographer Nancy C. Woodward came on Tuesday and spoke with Upper School art classes about her work as an artist and her current solo exhibition in our Art Gallery.  She also led a Center for Leadership Lunch & Lead.

St. Luke’s Visual Arts Week would not be complete without showcasing works by our very own artists here on the Hilltop. Art adorned the walls of the Forese Family Fireplace Commons and beyond. During SpringFest’s Friday festivities, the artists were celebrated in the Senior and Spring Art Exhibition Openings.

St. Luke’s Art Department faculty members include Sean Lynch (US Chair), Nancy Sarno (MS Chair), Haley Wulfman, and Jeorge Yankura.
