This year, senior participation across our six fall sports has been fantastic.
Fifty seniors, who represent 54% of the graduating class, have been involved with our varsity programs this fall season. All have been, or will be, honored in the next week.
Girls varsity soccer celebrated its seven senior players, including Ashley Barton, Ali Gall, Elli O’Meara, Layla Magnusen, Caroline Lau, Macey Owsley, and Caitlin Neafsey, on Wednesday, Oct. 27, following its win against Greenwich Country Day School.
Varsity field hockey was up next, honoring another magnificent seven players before their game on Friday, Oct. 29, against The Millbrook School. Andrea DiTeodoro, Lili Messina, Olivia Jones, Sloan Barker, Katherine Ellis, Ella Miller, and Madden Hart each received a commemorative plaque for their contributions to the program.
The St. Luke’s football seniors will be celebrated before their game against Canterbury School on Saturday, Oct. 30. The group of 10, including Everett Andersen, Matt O’Connor, Brandon Bulerin, Cal Stuart, Alex Caceras, Matthew Goldstein, Harrison Lambeth, Matthew Monterosso, Zion Profit, and Luke Rioux, will be recognized at roughly 2:15pm before the 2:30pm kickoff.
The six cross country team seniors will be acknowledged before the FAA Championship Race on Monday, Nov. 1. The race will start at 1:40pm at Sherwood Island Park, with Harlan Alford, Jack Dolan, Jessica Hausman, Henry Robb, Keilan Rosow, and Will Winalski being honored prior to the bang of the gun.
Our volleyball seniors will also be commemorated on Monday, Nov.1, prior to the team’s game against The Wooster School at 5:30pm. The 12 senior players and managers being honored are Karey Balkind, Annika Bonwetsch, Catherine Clark, Annalise Correia, Madeline Fredericks, Angelina Hendricks, Dakota Kelly, Sarah Minuesa, Talia Moss, Annabelle Santucci, Zoe Troeger, and Alexandra Winham.
Our final celebration will be boys varsity soccer on Wednesday, Nov. 3, when the eight senior players will be honored 15 minutes before their game against Cheshire Academy at 4:00pm. The St. Luke’s Athletic Department will recognize Michael Riley, Fritz Laibe, Thomas Arnold, Aarit Bhatnagar, Connor Cummings, Harris Halloran, Dillon Mannix, and Matthew Sherter for their hard work and dedication to the program.
