2022 National Merit Scholarship: Two Students Move to Finalist Round

S.A.
Aarit Bhatnagar ‘22 and Henry Robb ‘22 have advanced to the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program finalist round, after being selected as semifinalists in the fall. Each finalist  receives a Certificate of Merit.

As explained on the National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s website, “winners of the scholarship are chosen from the finalist group based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments.” When selecting winners, students are evaluated on various criteria, including academic records, the school's curriculum and grading system, PSAT scores, written recommendations, activities and leadership roles, and an essay.

Finalists have the opportunity to be selected for one of three scholarships: National Merit $2,500 Scholarship, corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship Award, and college-sponsored Merit Scholarship Award. Winners will be notified by mid-June.

Head of Upper School Liz Perry shared: “What an incredible honor for these two students to be selected as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Congratulations, Aarit and Henry, on this wonderful academic achievement! All of us here at St. Luke’s are rooting for you.”
