Alumni Sports Highlights: February 2024

Alumni Office
This month, we're highlighting St. Luke's Alumni who received accolades in their respective sports:

Gavin Greene, Class of 2020, joined Western New England University’s 1000 Point Club during a match against the Hartford Hawks. He is the 28th member of the University to join this exclusive club. Gavin has achieved this exciting milestone twice during his basketball career–he was also inducted into the St. Luke’s 1,000 Point Club in 2020! You can read the full game recap on the Golden Bears website.

Justin Pearl, Class of 2021, was honored as an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American for his play as a midfielder at Hamilton College. Justin's inclusion in the All-America list highlights his past performances and establishes him as a “player to watch” in the upcoming season for DIII lacrosse.

Nicholas Besgen, Class of 2022, received recognition as an MAAC All-Academic Honoree for his contributions to the Fairfield University Swimming & Diving Team. His achievement adds to the pride of the university's athletic community, with the men’s team boasting 15 student-athletes on the esteemed list. This accolade positions Fairfield University as the #1 ranked school among all Metro Atlantic Conference programs. To qualify for the prestigious MAAC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must fulfill rigorous criteria, including completing two semesters at their institution and maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

Congratulations to this group of SLS Alumni on their achievements!
