St. Luke's alumnus Cameron Wilson '10 tied Tiger Woods for the Stanford record for lowest single round score in school history. Wilson shot a 61 in The Gifford Collegiate Championship at CordeValle in San Martin, CA.
Wilson's 61 also broke the course record of 62 on the Robert Trent Jones-designed par 71, which was held by multiple PGA players including, most recently, John Mallinger and Nick O'Hern. Cameron's coach at Stanford, Conrad Ray, also heaped praise upon the Cardinal junior: "Cameron's round today was one of the best in Stanford's golf program history...Cameron seemed very comfortable from the first tee shot today. This is his third year competing in the Gifford Intercollegiate Golf Championship, and he likes the CordeValle course."
This is just the latest accomplishment in what is becoming an impressive golf résumé for Cameron. He qualified for the U.S. Open earlier this year and is a three-time participant in the U.S. Amateurs, where he reached match play in 2009 and 2011.
