SLS Vending Machine Serves Greater Purpose

VGP
This week’s New Canaan Advertiser features a local organization called Autism EATS (Empowering those with Autism To Succeed). Started by parents of a special needs adult, this program gives people with special needs a chance to have a meaningful, local job.

St. Luke’s parent Kristen Eveland and her son Erik ‘16 heard about the initiative and helped Autism EATS to start servicing St. Luke’s vending machine. As Erik states: "I've seen more people use it [the vending machine] than ever before. I think it has been empowering people. Because before, people felt like they were just buying snacks, but now it’s like they’re supporting the special needs community."
