Middle School Art Gallery Opens

VGP
The Middle School Art Gallery 2015-2016 is now on display throughout St. Luke’s School.

MS Art Chair Nancy Sarno announced the news at the MS Town Meeting, “Each year we choose works of art by Middle School students that show evidence of at least one of the following attributes: curiosity, determination, originality, or skill. When these artists began their works they may have considered a subject that interested them, so that it would be easier for them to make meaning with their work. When these students ran into problems in the creation of their artworks, they might have tried a new approach, used their mistake, or started over. During the creation of their work, they took time to look at what they had done, and to think if the work was saying what they wanted, and figured out how to change it if it did not. Above all, they worked until they liked what they saw!”

The paintings, drawings and prints are on display in the Community Court and in the waiting area of Mark Davis's office. The sculpture is on display in the entryway of the Art House. The Middle School Art Gallery will be on display throughout the school year.
