Holocaust Survivor Implores Students To Always Remember

VGP
On Monday, Holocaust survivor Judith Altmann met with SLS 8th graders sharing powerful stories about her persecution during the Hitler regime. Altmann had a good childhood in Czechoslovakia, but at 14 years old she was forced into a Nazi concentration camp for being Jewish. For five years she endured cruelty and great hardships that were inflicted upon millions during Hitler’s reign. Altmann’s concentration camp was liberated by British troops but many in her family had perished before the war ended.

Altmann travels the world telling her story. She feels it’s especially important for younger people to hear personal tales about the Holocaust to prevent it happening again.
