On Thursday, several SLS French classes were treated to a special visitor—former Holy Cross French professor, author and SLS grandparent Normand Lamoureux. During his forty years of teaching, Lamoureux wrote numerous French textbooks including the four-volume Ensemble series, used in universities around the country.
Lamourex visited SLS French classes from Level 1 to AP. US World Language Chair Jon Shee shared, “It was an honor to have him visit my AP French class and teach one of the books he wrote.” Shee added, “He did a full ‘explication de texte’ of a poem by Paul Verlaine called ‘Il pleure dans mon coeur’.” MS World Language Chair Amber Berry said, “My 7th grade class has been studying for just 3 months now but understood just about every word he said. My students were very excited to try out their skills.”
