MS Award-Winning Straw Bridge

V. Parker
From MS Science Chair Susan Bralower:

Eighty straws, many Strawbee plastic connectors and lots of creative thinking led four 5th and 6th graders to create an award-winning 8-foot bridge. The Middle School Makers club took on the Strawbees Bridge Building Challenge to create “the most magnificent bridge you can” and won first place.

In two weeks, these four 5th and 6th graders prototyped and revised their bridge until they successfully created a bridge spanning more than eight feet. Congratulations to Griffin Steinkraus '23, Joe Derr '24, Sebastian Rosario '24, and Jack Silverman '23 for their first place finish.
