Eight Students’ Work in Stamford Art Show
V. Parker
From Instructor of Photography Jeorge Yankura:
The St. Luke’s Art Department is thrilled to have eight student artists participating in the Stamford Art Association’s 44th Annual Student Show. The exhibition runs from February 26-March 16 and represents some of the finest student artwork in the area.
Artists Chloe Kekedjian, Matthew Murphy, Bridget Dalton, Rebecca Taylor, Maria Minuesa, Isabelle Stone, Alex Schwartz and Meg Adams—all members of the St. Luke’s Class of 2018—have created artworks through such mediums as graphic design, pastel and graphite drawings, watercolors and photography.
Bridget Dalton placed third in the Photography/Printmaking category for her photograph, "Portal."
Art exhibitions are an integral part of an artist’s education; students are able to see their work matted, framed and on display in a professional gallery, alongside the work of their peers from other schools. Through such exhibitions, the community is able to bear witness to the end result of great labors of love and dedication, and share in the wondrous visions rendered onto canvas, paper, ceramic and other media.
There will be an opening reception on Sunday, February 26 from 4:00-6:00pm at 39 Franklin Street in Stamford. We’re very proud of the great artwork created by our students and hope you are able to see their work on display.
