AP Art History Class Explores Metropolitan Museum

V. Parker
St. Luke’s AP Art History class explored the hallowed halls of NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art during last Friday’s warm winter day. The students split into groups as they searched out some of the works they have been studying while discovering other classic artwork along the way. The students sought out works which ranged from Hatshepsut with offering jars in the Egyptian Collection, to El Greco’s View of Toledo, and Picasso’s Portrait of Gertrude Stein. US Art Chair and AP Art History teacher Sean Lynch said, “We are fortunate at St. Luke’s to be in such close proximity to some of the greatest art museums in the world, particularly the Met which is an incredibly valuable resource.”
