St. Luke's Hoops Cruise To NEPSAC Semi's

The St. Luke’s Boys and Girls Basketball teams both cruised into the semifinals of the NEPSAC tournament with victories over Dexter Southfield and Beaver Country Day School respectively.
In Wednesday’s quarterfinal doubleheader at SLS, the boy's team took to the court first and, despite a tough start to the game, dispatched of the #8 seed convincingly. The visitors kept the game close in the first seven minutes but a 34-4 run from the Storm gave them a 45-17 lead at halftime.
BVBB would continue to control the game with Walter Whyte ‘17 top-scoring with 23. Joel Boyce ‘17 added 17, Andrew Varoli ‘18 chipped in with 14 and Jonas Harper ‘18 had 13 to give Luke’s the 82-47 win.
The Boys now face The Hyde School of Maine on Saturday at St. Mark’s School, Southborough, MA, at 4pm.
The St. Luke’s Girls Varsity team followed and the game had a very familiar feel to it. Beaver would frustrate the Storm in the opening minutes, and led 7-11 early in the contest, before the talent of the #1 seed took control.
Maya Klein ‘18 would top-score for St. Luke’s with 24 closely followed by McKenna Frank ‘18 who would finish with 22 in the 86-66 win.
The Girls will now meet the #5 seed Proctor Academy at The Williston Northampton School, Easthampton, MA at 2pm.
