Mae Archie '22 Wins Second Straight National Synchronized Skating Title

Dan Clarke
A huge congratulations to Mae Archie ‘22 who won The National Synchronized Skating Championship for the second year in a row.

Archie, who captained the Juvenile Skyliners team, capped off an amazing year by winning the gold medal last week at the three-day event in Rockford, IL.

The St. Luke’s 7th grader trains six days a week and has a double session on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, skating for two hours in the morning and then again in the evening, but is seeing the rewards of her hard work.

Mae has been skating since around the age of three when she played Ice Hockey in her hometown of Darien but has been synchronized skating for the past seven years.

On winning her second straight National Title she said, “It was an amazing feeling. I felt a little more pressure this year as captain of the team but to win it again was awesome!”
