6th Grade Nature's Classroom Overnight Field Trip

From Middle School English Department Chair Kirstie Tobler:

On September 25-27, St. Luke's 6th grade students and teacher chaperones had a fun trip to Nature's Classroom. The students had a chance to bond with each and their teachers, as well as take classes inspired by the gorgeous natural landscape of Northwestern Connecticut. Some built geodesic domes and practiced the safe way to kindle a fire, while others dissected sharks or brewed tea from pine needles. We especially enjoyed getting to know the animals at the farm, especially Stanley the Pig. On our last night, everyone enjoyed an adventurous hike in the dark and singing to the stars. It was a wonderful start to our year together.
