St. Luke’s Storms Bobby Valentine’s Sports Academy

Daniel Clarke
The next time you’re near Bobby Valentine’s Sports Academy (BVSA) in Stamford, stop in. You will be greeted by a banner with  these words from St. Luke’s Athletic Director Mike West:

“Championships, yes. But character, leadership, and the highest level of sportsmanship stand above all.”

As you enter the facility and look back over your shoulder and you’ll see a striking visual installation inside BVSA’s 40,000 sq. ft facility is impossible to miss and captures the philosophy, diversity, and pride of St. Luke’s sports program. “I love that our focus on character-driven performance is the first thing you see,” says West. “And that current and future St. Luke’s Storm athletes will see themselves in these powerful images.”

This celebration of the St. Luke’s program in the BVSA facility came about with an unexpected phone call to Admission Director Ginny Bachman. "Bobby Valentine's reached out to St. Luke's because we already had a connection," Bachman explained. "Several of our student-athletes and coaches use the BVSA facilities and this felt like an excellent way to introduce more families to St. Luke's distinctive philosophy and programs."

If you stop by, take your photo in front of any St. Luke’s visuals and share with Sports Promotion Specialist Dan Clarke (clarked@stlukesct.org) and we’ll share on Storm social media.
