French Contest Wins in Word and Song

Congratulations to the many St. Luke’s students who earned winning scores in the 2020 National French Contest/Le Grand Concours. Almost 69,000 students from around the country participated in this contest.

In total, 61 St. Luke’s French students received awards in one of four categories: gold, silver, bronze, and honorable mention. Eighteen Middle School French students won top prizes, including 2 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze. The Upper School had 43 winners who were recognized in the top categories: 3 gold, 6 silver, 7 bronze, and 27 Honorable Mentions. The American Association of French Teachers Connecticut (AATF-CT) Alors, on chante! Video Singing Competition had five St. Luke’s Upper School students who submitted winning video recording entries: Laura Mercedes ‘20 and Amelie Warneryd ‘20 (First Prize Video) Marguerite DeMarco ‘21 and Josephine DeMarco ‘23 (Best Choreography), and Abby Thomas ‘23 (Most Emotional Performance).
