St. Luke's Offers Opportunities to Support Nonprofits This Fall
S.A.
This fall, St. Luke’s School is offering opportunities to support two nonprofits, Inspirica and Filling in the Blanks — organizations that St. Luke’s actively partners with throughout the year. We hope you’ll consider supporting these organizations by participating in one or both events mentioned below.
Inspirica Walkathon: Inspirica, a fantastic, Stamford-based organization, is working to break the cycle of homelessness by helping people access and maintain permanent housing. Eight years ago, St. Luke’s started One Step Closer to Home, a walkathon supporting Inspirica’s mission.
This year, the annual event is moving online. Participants will register, create a fundraising page and share it on their social media pages to help raise donations. Walkers should download the organization’s event app (you can find it on their website) to track their steps between September 20-October 4 and to see who will earn the most steps in our virtual walk! To participate, please register here.
Filling in the Blanks Holiday Backpack Drive: Filling in the Blanks is a terrific organization in Norwalk that is helping fight childhood hunger by providing weekend meals to students who receive free and reduced lunch. Filling in the Blanks is getting a head start on their holiday backpack drive (to help comply with COVID-19 safety regulations), and looking to receive donations by October 12. You can support the Holiday Backpack Drive by purchasing items from their holiday wish list on Amazon.
For questions about either event, or to find out more about how you can give back this fall, please contact Ms. Parker-Burgard, Center for Leadership Director.
