Team Trained For New Rock Climbing Wall

Daniel Clarke
A number of the St. Luke’s athletic department and Bluestreak staff completed their instructor training for the new rock-climbing wall on Wednesday, September 2, and look forward to helping climbers soon.

The two-story wall located inside the new Wellness & Fitness Center will be available for students, faculty, and staff to use under the supervision of the instructors.

Rock climbing is a dynamic activity that provides opportunities to build physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills. St. Luke’s wall includes a variety of routes with varying degrees of difficulty, enabling climbers of all levels to enjoy the benefits of the sport.

Associate Director of Athletics Jennifer Besgen is excited to introduce this new opportunity to the students and staff: “This is a great opportunity for our students to try something new and get out of their comfort zone. No experience is necessary and we can’t wait to see people enjoying this awesome new feature.”
