SLS PA: Virtual Welcome Back Coffee a HUGE Success

SS
On September 15, The Parents' Association was ecstatic to have over 130 participants join us for our first virtual event of the school year, our annual Welcome Back Coffee. New Co-Presidents, Amy DiTeodoro and Penelope Jones, opened the meeting with a wonderful welcome to both old and new families and shared many of the exciting events that the PA has already begun to plan. Both Amy and Penelope expressed their appreciation to the community for helping to make the Gratitude Project such a huge success. It was a nice surprise for our faculty and staff to be showered with over 325 letters of appreciation for all that they have done to kick off the school year. In addition, Amy recognized the School Store Chairs who have rapidly changed with the times by moving all sales to an online Pop-Up-Shop. Be sure to check out all the great new fall items available until Friday, October 2. The PA also announced the launch of their Brown Bag Lunch Series, which will begin on Wednesday, September 30.  The PA will be hosting regular Brown Bag Lunches on Wednesdays at noon featuring a St. Luke's Faculty or Administrator speaking on a topic of interest.

During the coffee, we were fortunate enough to hear from Liz Perry, Head of Upper School, who introduced some of our new administrators joining us on the Hilltop this year: Kari Olsen, Director of Counseling Services; Jaci Nelson, Director of Equity and Inclusion; Jon Jodka, Director of Development; Cindy Dill, Director of Annual Giving; and Katie Mersky, Dean of Middle School.

The PA is so excited to come together as a community, whether it be for one of our traditional gatherings, re-imagined or for something new. Please share this adventure with us! There are numerous opportunities to volunteer for class-specific and general PA activities. Click here to see how to get involved! Stay up-to-date on all PA and class events by visiting both your Class and PA Pages. Need a refresher on how to "Navigate Parent Information on the St. Luke's Website"? Click here.

Here’s to a great start to the school year and looking forward to sharing it with all of you!
