Elyse in Paris: SLS Alum Vlogs with Students as She Studies Abroad
Alumni Office
St. Luke’s alum, Elyse Kim '21, is studying abroad in Paris and taking current SLS students along for her journey. Elyse is currently a junior at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Economics and minoring in French and History. This past winter, Elyse began sharing videos of her French adventures with Jon Shee's French classes. Students are viewing the videos and interacting along the way. Shee has created a vocabulary document to accompany each video clip. His students participate in "turn and talks" to discuss what they saw and learned in each of Elyse's videos. He also provides cultural and historical information about the locations Elyse is visiting.
Over Spring Break, Mr. Shee and Elyse had a chance to meet up in Paris for lunch at Le Palais Royal. As Elyse is our own "Emily in Paris," it is only fitting that they ended their visit at the famous bench from the popular Netflix for a photo opp.
Merci, Elyse! We cannot wait to continue following along on your travels!
