A Life Curated- Max Tucci ‘98

Alumni Office
Step into the vibrant world of St. Luke's alum Max Tucci '98, where entrepreneurship, creativity, and the culinary world come together. His artistic journey began under the mentorship of former art teacher, Ms. Toth, whose guidance in the St. Luke's darkroom ignited his passion for the arts. Max cites this as the most pivotal moment in his career development and "saving grace.” Learning from and working alongside Ms. Toth allowed Max to hone in on his artistic expression which would inevitably flourish into a multi-faceted career.

After leaving the Hilltop, Max continued to chase his passions. From appearances on America's Next Top Model to his popular podcast MAX and Friends, he's curated a life for himself in the entertainment industry.  In 2022, Max revisited his roots with the publication of The Delmonico Way; Sublime Entertaining & Legendary Recipes from the Restaurant that Made New York! (Rizzoli), a culinary homage to his family's legacy. In 1926, Max's grandfather, Oscar Tucci, purchased the esteemed Wall Street eatery Delmonico's.  Max, a torchbearer of his grandfather's legacy, recently reopened Delmonico’s as a third-generation partner & Global Brand Officer and unveiled his eponymous restaurant, Tucci NYC.

When asked what advice he’d give to SLS students interested in a hospitality career, Max encourages them to "'Dream big', and understand that hospitality and conviviality go hand in hand. Never get discouraged and remember that no experience is ever wasted. If you can see it in your mind, you can create it your reality.” Max Tucci's journey from St. Luke's is a vibrant blend of passion, guidance, success, and family legacy. From darkroom experiments with Ms. Toth to his bustling culinary empire, he's shown how following your dreams can lead to exciting adventures. Cheers!
