St. Luke’s Debaters Compete at the Asia Society and University of Pennsylvania
St. Luke’s debaters continue to excel and recently participated in two notable events:
Chloe Kekedjian ‘18 and Eliza Posner ‘16 were invited to debate members of the National High School Debate League of China. This was held at the Asia Society in New York City. Debate Coach Beth Yavenditti said, “It was a very big honor. Top debate students from each country were paired up. Last weekend the SLS Debate Team attended the University of Pennsylvania’s Liberty Bell Classic Debate Tournament. Bilal Memon '18, Alex Levy '16, Chloe Kekedjian '18 and Eliza Posner '16 took on debaters from across the country, Canada and China. Bilal and Alex successfully won three out of five rounds. Chloe and Eliza took second place and Eliza won first speaker out of 108 competitors.
