Senior and Sophomore Win SLS Shakespeare Monologue Competition

VGP
The St. Luke’s Theatre Department held its annual Shakespeare Monologue Competition. Director of Theatre Arts Jereme Anglin said, “we had a talented turnout across all upper grades.” The two SLS winners were Malcolm Joung ‘15 and Grace Cashman ‘17. Malcolm performed a monologue by Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing and Grace recited one by Juliet from Romeo & Juliet.  Grace and Malcolm were among 23 students from Connecticut and New York to compete at a regional competition where Malcolm came in an impressive third place.

The school and regional competitions are part of the English-Speaking Union (ESU) National Shakespeare Competition. To read more about the state competition, see the Greenwich Time article about the event held at the Greenwich Library on February 25.
