SLS Junior Heads to World Debate Competition in Hong Kong
By Valerie Parker
Eliza Posner ‘16 and Debate Team Coach Abby Bielski are heading to Hong Kong for the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships (WIDPSC). This worldwide competition runs April 6-11. WIDPSC participants are required to be in a debate tournament, write and memorize a persuasive speech, present an interpretive reading and be prepared for impromptu speeches. Eliza said “It will be very exciting, but right now, I am focusing on getting ready.” Qualifying for this global championship is a tremendous achievement and we wish Eliza well in the various competitions.
