2015 Connecticut Music Educators Association All-State Choir

VGP
Last week four St. Luke’s students performed with the Connecticut All-State Choir—an impressive number considering many schools have only one (or no) singers invited. Emma Citron '15, Nick Jodka '16, Skye Andersen '16, and Mitchell Mount '18 melodically represented St. Luke’s at this prestigious annual event. Upper School Music Director Dale Griffa said, "This was one of the strongest Connecticut All-State Choirs in the last several years. The musicianship of this year's choir was at a collegiate level."

The All-State Choir was part of the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) Conference where SLS Music Department faculty were honored this year. Griffa was recognized for his years of service as past president of CMEA, and Middle School Music Director Katie Kaplan was recognized for presenting Discovering Voices: A Middle School Interdisciplinary Approach to Music and the Arts. Kaplan said, “We had a fabulous time and by far the highlight was sitting in in the All-State Choir rehearsal and being overwhelmed by the glorious sound of the top High School voices in the state.” She added, “ I am so proud of our students for being part of that experience!”
