The Always Entertaining SLS Thespian Awards

VGP
On Tuesday, the St. Luke’s Theatre Department recognized the students who starred on stage and behind the scenes. The festive ceremony in front of a packed Fireplace Commons was ultimately bittersweet when a group of students concluded the ceremony by serenading Director of Theatre Arts Jereme Anglin, who is leaving the Hilltop after eight years.

Junior Nick Jodka ’15 thanked Mr. Anglin for helping expand the scope of the performing arts at St. Luke’s. He cited Mr. Anglin’s role in everything from the growing facilities to sending a troupe to perform in Edinburgh.  Juliana Soltys ’16 added, “Thank you, Mr. Anglin, for everything” before being drowned out by applause.

The student awards recognized everything from “design and visual creativity” to “best comedy performance”. Actors, set designers, tech gurus, and stage managers were praised in the forms of hugs, plaques, and in one case, the coveted “golden wrench”.
