Spare Time Spent Serving Others

VGP
SLS Senior Will Bralower has spent endless hours going above and beyond with his work as a volunteer firefighter with the Long Ridge Fire Company in Stamford. Since January 2014, Will has been helping out on emergency calls—and has even slept at the firehouse overnight on snow days to help pitch in. Will said, “I really like being an EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) which is the first step to becoming an EMT. I’m actually looking at colleges that offer student EMT programs because I want to continue.”

Working at the firehouse has taught Will to respond more quickly to those in need around him in his everyday life. Will added, “it reinforces the importance of being part of a community where people are always there to help you and you’re ready to do the same.”
