Middle School Assembly with Nametags Educational Program

VGP
Friday’s Middle School assembly was filled with inspiring stories of resilience and personal achievement shared by Nametags Educational Program co-creator Chris Waddell. He talked about living with a disability and how it has shaped his life. Waddell shared the Nametag program’s central message: “It’s not what happens to you. It’s what you do with what happens to you.” SLS parent and resilience educator Donna Volpitta, Ed.D, is also a co-creator of the Nametags program.

One of Waddell’s many accomplishments is an almost entirely unassisted paraplegic ascent up Mt. Kilimanjaro. On Monday, September 28, St. Luke’s will host a discussion with Waddell and special screening of the documentary 1-Revolution highlighting his journey up the mountain. The discussion will be 6:00-7:00pm and the screening 7:00-8:30pm.

All students and parents are welcome to this special event. Please rsvp here.
