St. Luke’s Debaters Deliver Strong Performance in MS Debate Tournament
S.A.
Meredith MacLeod, St. Luke’s Debate Coach, shared details of last weekend’s Virtual Connecticut Middle School Debate Tournament.
Last Saturday, in the early morning hours, St. Luke's Middle School Debate Team met in their virtual squad room to discuss last-minute strategies. This included a quick lesson on how to tie a session by Jack Barker ‘25, who demonstrated masterful Zoom instruction.
The students presented cases on the benefits and disadvantages of allowing law enforcement to search consumer genetic databases. Each member of the St. Luke's Middle School Debate Team delivered phenomenal results and won at least two of the three rounds. Additionally, St. Luke’s debaters improved with each round, with every debater winning their final round.
Congratulations to the St. Luke’s Middle School Debate Team: Avery Zakowich ‘25, Dash Gilrain-Lennon ‘25, Samantha Gerber ‘25, Jack Barker ‘25, Maggie Fleuette ‘35, Ainsley Birmingham ‘25, Andrew Eiref ‘26, Henry Basham ‘26, and Salman Memon ‘26!
