SLS PA: First PA Community Conversation Draws A Crowd

MC
The Parents' Association hosted our first Community Conversation about Lisa Damour's Under Pressure on Thursday, Jan. 26. An engaging discussion was led by Director of Counseling & Well-Being Kari Olsen and School Counselor Emily Kress. There were many conversations in small groups and much sharing of experiences, strategies, and ideas. As one attendee said, "It's nice to know you're not alone and other parents are experiencing the same thing you are." Attendees talked through many of the themes in Dr. Damour's book, everything from why stress and anxiety can be good tools to whether your child operates on a "projectiles" or "pathways" mode.

We look forward to our next Community Conversation about Lisa Damour's newest book, The Emotional Lives of Teenagers: Raising Connected, Capable and Compassionate Adolescents, on Tuesday, April 4.
