Every summer, students from St. Luke's work together with students from Waterside School in Stamford to create a meaningful, rewarding summer program. Academic enrichment and fun activities highlight days full of cultural exchange and good spirit.
St. Luke’s Upper School students from grades 9-12 are eligible to volunteer as Teaching Interns at the camp, earn community service hours toward their graduation requirement, and develop valuable leadership skills.
Camp takes place at the Waterside School campus in Stamford, CT Monday through Friday for five weeks, beginning June 29 and ending July 31. The work day is 8:30 am-3:30 pm.
If a student has never worked at the Waterside Camp before in any capacity, he/she must answer some additional short essays when submitting an application, provide at least one recommendation from a St. Luke’s teacher, and meet for a brief interview with the Center for Leadership staff. Interview schedules will be arranged shortly after the application deadline closes.
A finite number of spots are available, but we are committed to providing camp opportunities for as many qualified applicants as we can. Interested students should review the accompanying job description, complete the application, and arrange for a teacher recommendation (for new volunteers) by Friday, March 6. Late applications will be considered on a case by case basis if space is still available.
All applications must be submitted via google form, available on the Center for Leadership website. Questions should be emailed to Kate Parker-Burgard, Director of Character Education:
